There was a forest of bottles of rich red wine; there were happy, curly-tailed bandit dogs eager to pilfer unattended hors d’oeuvres; and there was Bela: a princess, a rock star, a pretty girl in a pretty dress with an easy, open smile and eyes that stared straight through you.
One of the greatest pleasures of being human is recognizing how we all move through our lives experiencing the same world in as many varied ways as there are souls across the planet.
